Is it time to finally lay the exterior shell (the police box) of the TARDIS to rest? Would you like to see the Chameleon Circuit fixed? Would you like to see the TARDIS get stuck in another form? What other objects could it turn in to?

This is a hard one for me! You see, I am very fond of the original shell, given that it has been the preferred mode of all the Doctors of my youth! Added to which, one of my best friends, Dale Who actually restored the BBC Tardis..even though when they got it back they basically broke it, repainted the window frames and made it look dull and fair broke his heart!!!!!

It's a difficult question, but I think the police box exterior should be maintained as it is part of what Doctor Who is. I would, however, like to see it work properly (unlike in Attack of the Cybermen) for a few stories so we can see how it would work as we've never really seen a good example of a TARDIS chameleon circuit (The Master's horsebox in Terror of the Autons is the worst idea ever, especially considering it has windows!).

The TARDIS shell is one of the few recognisable icons from the show, and is essential to the show's life. The Doctor's TARDIS, that uncontrolable, infamously unreliable transport has made a worldwide impression - so much so Bill and Ted stole the idea for their movies!
Yes, I did have the BBC's TARDIS in my back garden for a time, and we made a fantastic job of restoring her to a decent condition... however the BBC have done an ever better job of wrecking the prop in record time, so she's now as bad, if not worse than she was. Their loss.  |

Dale made a good point, that the Box is so central to this that except for episodes like "attack of cybermen" it shouldn't be changed, but the INSIDE is as important as the OUTSIDE!!!! Let's restore the "Five Doctors" Console Room, with it's "traditional" 1ft 8in Roundels, ok? The "zigzag" shaped 7ft "Main Doors" are central to this, too as are the "Hartnell-style 2ft 2in large Roundels in the doors!!
